Accounts Payable Specialist-Fort Worth, TX

Chalk Mountain Services of Texas, LLC ("Chalk") is a rapidly growing company providing transportation and logistics services to the oil field and gas extraction industry. The Company is based in Fort Worth, TX and is currently adding an Accounts Payable Specialist to the accounting team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Review and process vendor invoices, check requests, and employee expense reports per company and departmental policies and procedures using automation software
  • Open, distribute, and process incoming mail in a timely manner
  • Prepare and distribute payments
  • Reconcile invoices with statements and verify accuracy of related documents and information
  • Research vendor inquiries or issues in a timely manner and maintain documentation
  • Provide quality customer service with each incoming and outgoing telephone call and written request
  • Identify opportunities to better a process and participate in the successful execution of that change
  • Perform document retention functions for the department
  • Maintain contact with the Team Leader and/or immediate supervisor
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Conform with all company policies and procedures

Experience and Skills Required

  • Associates degree in accounting or related field experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel)
  • Extensive knowledge of payable processes
  • Experience with automated invoice routing and approval software preferred
  • Experience with three-way matching of purchase order, receiver and invoice preferred
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to interact professionally with vendors, clients, and internal teams to constructively resolve issues and resolve problems
  • Excellent problem-solving and resolution skills
  • Microsoft Great Plains and/or Epicor Docstar experience preferred
