Chalk Mountain Services of Texas, LLC (“Chalk”) is a leader in transportation and logistics servicing the oil and gas extraction industry. The Company is based in Fort Worth, TX and is currently hiring an Operations Data Analyst.

The Data Analyst will provide enhanced management reports and a high-quality budgeting and forecasting analysis. They will utilize technical expertise to ensure data is accurate and high-quality. Data is then analyzed and presented in a way that identifies errors, irregularities, and opportunities for financial and operational improvement so to assist the business in making better decisions.

Responsibilities

REPORTING:

• Develop financial and management reports which clearly and concisely illustrate operational, financial, and forensic performance. Continue to enhance reporting as requirements change.
• Maintain and distribute the various reporting package templates for management and operational personnel.
• Assist CFO in the presentation of findings in monthly board reports and other presentations.
• Prepare ad hoc reports as required.

PLANNING:

• Assist with the development and ongoing measurement of Key Performance Indicators utilized to measure operational performance and incentive bonus calculations.
• Create forecasting models based upon historical data and pertinent forecast data designed to project Key Performance Indicators and other critical assumptions used in the Company’s forecasting process.
• Provide additional support for the annual/monthly forecasting process.

ANALYSIS:

• Review business performance data on a continuous basis. Identify errors and irregularities in the data and identify opportunities for improvement in operational and financial performance in such data. Such efforts include but are not limited to:
• Development of metric forecasts and subsequent variance analysis.
• Drill down analysis of data and metrics designed to identify underlying relationships between operational behavior and results.
• Analysis of resource capacity utilization
• Analyze payroll and benefits trends, coordinate with Payroll and Human Resources to ensure accurate payroll reporting.
• Periodic auditing of internal functions through assessment of processed data.

OTHER:

• Such other assignments as the Company may require from time to time.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or Data Analysis required. Proven analytical depth and strong technical skills required, including current knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Experience with Vena, Planful or similar CPM software considered a plus. Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel (Pivot Table and V-Look ups) and PowerPoint required.

Strong ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong analytical problem-solving aptitude with creative solutions, ability to organize work with large amounts of information efficiently, manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with attention to detail.

Communication

Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both in writing and verbally, with management, vendors, consultants, and other business partners. Ability to speak effectively in group settings.
