Supporting the next generation of leaders through education

At Chalk Mountain Services, supporting our employees and their families remains a core value—and our Chalk Scholarship Program continues to grow as a reflection of that commitment.

This year, we are proud to recognize seven outstanding students as recipients of the Chalk Scholarship. The group includes four returning recipients and three new awardees, each pursuing higher education at universities or technical institutions across the region. These students represent a wide range of academic interests and career goals, united by their drive to learn, serve, and make a meaningful impact.

As the Chalk Scholarship Program enters another year, we are inspired by the passion, resilience, and purpose these students bring to their studies. Their goals reflect not only personal ambition but also a desire to give back and contribute positively to their communities.

We congratulate this year’s scholarship recipients and look forward to the great things they will accomplish—both in the classroom and beyond.

Creativity, pride, and Chalk Mountain spirit were on full display in this year’s 3rd Annual Chalk Art Contest, and the talent shown by our participants made selecting winners no easy task. From safety‑focused messaging to bold interpretations of our trucks, people, and values, each submission reflected a unique perspective on what Chalk Mountain Services represents.

Chalk Mountain Services of Texas has once again been recognized on a national stage for its unwavering commitment to safety and its people.

The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) awarded Chalk Mountain a Division III Fleet Safety Award, ranking the company second overall in the 15–25 million mile category for 2025. This highly competitive program assesses carriers based on accident frequency ratios per million miles traveled, highlighting fleets with the strongest safety performance records across North America.

Aside from the fleet safety honor, Chalk Mountain was also named a 2026 TCA Elite Fleet Certified Carrier, a designation given to companies that show excellence in creating driver-focused, people-first work environments.

What the Elite Fleet Certification Means

Elite Fleet certification is earned through a thorough evaluation process that assesses various aspects of a carrier’s operations, including driver safety, equipment quality, turnover rates, and overall commitment to driver satisfaction. TCA recognizes only those carriers that meet its high standards for supporting and valuing professional drivers. Chalk Mountain is proud to be among the carriers that have met this rigorous benchmark.

Fort Worth, Texas, July 2025 – Chalk Mountain Services of Texas has been named Texas Trucking Association’s (TXTA) 2025 Truck Safety Contest Grand Champion. This prestigious honor was bestowed upon Chalk on July 31 during TXTA’s Annual Conference in Austin, Texas. The honor of Grand Champion is awarded to the company with the lowest accident frequency rate and the most comprehensive and effective safety program. In addition to being named TXTA’s Grand Champion, Chalk also took first place in the Local Over 10 Million Mile category, and Senior Director of Safety, David Serach, received TXTA’s Distinguished Safety Award.  

“These awards are a testament to the unwavering dedication to safety and quality demonstrated by the team at Chalk Mountain,” said Chalk CEO Aaron Yeager. The company has been named Grand Champion three times in the past four years and has achieved victories in its mileage category for four consecutive years. “We couldn’t be prouder of their efforts and results,” Yeager added. 

Known as the “Unified Voice of Texas Trucking,” TXTA has served the Texas trucking industry since 1932. The organization stands as a trusted advocate for public policy, educational excellence, and professional safety. Its 1000 member organizations range from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies.  

Chalk Mountain Services of Texas was founded in 2006 and is a leader in the transportation and logistics industry, managing operations in Texas, New Mexico, Wyoming, North Dakota, and Ohio. 

Chalk Mountain Services has been recognized by the National Safety Council (NSC) as a 2024 Our Driving Concern Texas Employer Traffic Safety Award – Exemplary Award recipient, honoring the company’s leadership in roadway safety across Texas.
Presented annually by the National Safety Council in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), the Our Driving Concern Texas Employer Traffic Safety Awards recognize organizations that demonstrate strong safety policies, driver training programs, and a proactive approach to reducing crashes and injuries. In 2024, Chalk Mountain Services was named one of only four Exemplary Award recipients statewide, the program’s highest distinction.
The award was formally presented during the TxDOT Traffic Safety Conference in Austin, Texas, where employers from across the state were honored for advancing the National Safety Council’s Road to Zero mission—working toward zero roadway fatalities.
This recognition adds to Chalk Mountain’s long-standing record of safety excellence, including honors from the Texas Trucking Association and other industry organizations.

Chalk Mountain’s 1^st place finish reflects the strength of its safety programs and the daily dedication of its drivers, safety professionals, and support teams. Through consistent training, disciplined operating practices, and a culture that prioritizes doing the job right, the company continues to focus on protecting its people and the communities it serves.

This recognition reinforces Chalk Mountain’s ongoing commitment to safety excellence and its role as a trusted leader in transportation across Texas.

Supporting our employees and their families is a fundamental value at Chalk, and we take pride in enhancing it every year. This year, we are delighted to introduce a new initiative – the Chalk Scholarship. This scholarship aims to assist the children or dependents of Chalk employees as they pursue higher education, whether at a university or vocational school. 

We were impressed by the quality of the applicants, all of whom are pursuing promising career paths, in areas like nursing, education, and construction. We are excited to have granted scholarships to 12 exceptional students and look forward to witnessing their accomplishments this year and beyond in their professional journeys. Congratulations, again!  

Chalk Mountain Services of Texas is pleased to announce the completion of the first annual Kid’s Art Contest to benefit CASA of Pleasanton and CASA of the Permian Basin. Contestants were tasked with exploring the theme “What Makes Chalk, Chalk”, and their submissions were exceptional! The artwork included stunning depictions of West Texas landscapes, recreations of Chalk’s safety protocols, and imaginative renderings of our renowned, blue Peterbilt truck. We were impressed by the level of creativity and talent demonstrated by all participants. 

The winners were chosen by Chalk Leadership anonymously, and they were rewarded with a cash prize and the Grand Winner won a bike of their choice! Additionally, all participants received exclusive Chalk swag. Chalk matched the sales from the calendar and donated the proceeds to the local CASAs. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) trains volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the court system to ensure that each child is placed in a safe, permanent and healthy environment.

Texas Trucking Association (TXTA) recognized leaders in safety and professionalism at the Safety and Maintenance Awards Luncheon held July 27 at TXTA’s Annual Conference in San Antonio.

The Truck Safety Contest Award recognizes fleets of TXTA member companies that developed dignified professional driving performance in the trucking industry. These state winners, judged by the company’s lowest overall accident frequency experience rates, are presented trophies and plaques in recognition of their achievement.

For the second year in a row, The Great West Casualty Safety Award was awarded to Chalk for First Place in the Local 5 to 10 million mile class.

In addition, for the second year in a row, we were awarded the TXTA Truck Safety Contest Grand Champion award, which was based on our Safety Program.

We are very proud and honored to be a Safety leader in the industry and for TXTA! Thank you to our dedicated employees for helping us take home these distinguished awards and putting Safety First!

Chalk Mountain Services of Texas earned 1st Place in Division III (15–24.99 million miles) in the 2022 Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) Fleet Safety Awards, a national recognition honoring exceptional safety performance across the truckload industry. Presented annually by the Truckload Carriers Association, the Fleet Safety Awards recognize carriers with the lowest accident frequency ratios per million miles, evaluated across six mileage-based divisions. Chalk Mountain’s first-place finish placed the company at the top of its division among fleets operating millions of miles annually throughout North America.

The award reflects Chalk Mountain’s strong safety culture and the daily commitment of its drivers, safety professionals, maintenance teams, and operations staff. Consistent training, accountability, and a people-first approach to safety continue to drive the company’s performance on and off the road.
